Recent events, with a new virus affecting millions of people worldwide, is a timely reminder that appropriate insurance is taken out when booking a holiday or for anyone backpacking beyond the UK.

Whilst some holiday packages include insurance, it is worth taking independent advice to ensure that all eventualities are covered: should it be necessary to cancel a trip, replacement dates or money back should be available. It is also essential to have the right health insurance; whilst the UK has reciprocal arrangements with many countries, including within the European Union, additional charges may be made for specific treatments, and Brexit may require changes. Existing health problems must be taken into account.

Some insurance packages are available to Bank customers, but they may not be sufficiently comprehensive, or not valid for older people.

Evaluating all potential circumstances is a sensible approach; getting the right cover is likely to be a bit more expensive than standard policies – but it is worth paying that extra for peace of mind. Getting it right may save a life.

Our experienced teams at Just Mortgage Brokers will be able to advise – just give them a call.
